Warehouses are a world of their own-large, windowless halls with high shelving constructions and relatively narrow aisles where workers need to move quickly and safely. Warehouses are a major component of any industry logistics system which has evolved due to the increasing complexity of functionality with multiple tasks performed within the voluminous space, such as logistics, packaging, labeling, order picking, shipping and receiving, light assembly and desk work. In today's dynamic business environment, warehousing facility management has become a highly special operation for manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, importers, exporters, courier services, transportation and logistics companies.

Ideal lighting solutions are high-performance and durable luminaires with narrow or narrow-wide distribution reflectors and high levels of glare reduction. Optimum visual conditions must exist when looking up towards the hall ceiling as well, for example when sorting goods at high heights with forklift trucks.A well-designed lighting system that is equipped with highly efficient light fixtures is essential in a warehouse to promote worker visibility, productivity and safety.

To save energy, UFO Led High Bay Light solutions with light management systems featuring presence detection are recommended: luminaires are only switched on if people are in the detection range. LED technology by far is the biggest of energy saving warehouse lighting solutions on the market today. Metal halide or high-pressure sodium warehouse lighting options are no match for LED warehouse lighting in today's marketplace. There are a lot of factors to consider when planning or upgrading the lighting in your warehouse. So many that the task may seem rather daunting, but it doesn't have to be difficult. From the very basic choice of which light source to use to the more complex matter of which light distribution type is best, we're here to help you make the right decisions.

What Type of Light Source Should Be Used:Led,CFL,HPS,MH,HID?

Conventional high bay and low bay light fixtures utilize high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps which produce light by creating an electric arc that flows between two tungsten electrodes housed inside a translucent or transparent arc tube. HID lighting fixtures, such as mercury vapor, high-pressure sodium, metal halide lamps have been widely used in warehouse lighting due to their extreme amount of output of light. However, HID lighting has inherent disadvantages such as excessive energy consumption, poor color rendition, unsatisfactory lamp lumen depreciation (LLD), susceptibility to damage from shocks and vibration, no choice of color temperatures, high optical loss, limited dimming capabilities in terms of timing and range, and a lack of high efficiency electronic ballasts to power the HID light sources.

An alternative to standard HID lamp for warehouse lighting is fluorescent lamps which emit diffuse light from long glass tubes. The drawback with the traditional linear fluorescent lamps is their high power consumption, short life expectancy, the large quantity of luminaries required to light a large area, which increases the initial installation costs, and poor light output quality in terms of both color temperature and color rendering. The more efficient high intensity compact fluorescent lamp or CFL lamps enabled fluorescent systems to be used for commercial, institutional, and industrial spaces with ceilings less than 15 feet high. Notwithstanding their advantages over HID and external ballast regulated fluorescent lamps, CFL lamps suffer from a number of limitations such low luminance, relatively short lifespan, shorter-wave ultraviolet (UV) emission, and poor compatibility with most dimmers, motion sensors, photocells and timers, etc.

The most versatile and energy efficient choice for lighting your warehouse is with UFO Led High Bay Light. They use less energy than any other light source while emitting comparable, if not better, Lumen outputs. Led High Bay Light can either be purchased as complete fixtures for new construction or as retrofits for current fixtures. They can also last up to 100,000 life hours, so you won't have to drag out the ladder or lift to replace a bulb nearly as often, and they don't suffer from constant on/off cycles the way HID and fluorescent do. While they work great in colder temperatures, UFO Led High Bay Light can be affected by higher temperatures. Yet the decrease in light output and life hours is often negligible before temperatures around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Your warehouse lighting needs are varied, and there is much to consider when specifying those needs. Lighting must comply with codes, use energy efficiently, enable productivity and enhance the working space. Lighting is also one of the biggest energy expenses in your warehouse and can be up to 80% of your electric bill. Traditional HID or fluorescent lighting is a drain on your resources. It wastes energy and requires routine and unexpected maintenance. Traditional lighting also struggles to comply with changing energy codes.

Reasons to Convert over to UFO Led High Bay Light

1.Energy savings up to 80%

With advancements in LED light fixture technology and higher lumens per watts configurations now available, reducing energy consumption by over 80% is reasonable. Coupled with controls like motion sensors, achieving reductions in excess of 80% is achievable and reasonable to expect, especially if there are areas with limited daily foot traffic.

Converting over from fluorescent light systems should see an energy savings of at least 50%. However, it is important to note that you need to pay attention to a few details.

* Never buy a LED fixture based on the watts consumed.

* Focus on lumens you need and pay attention to lumens per watt. You will consume a lot more energy at 100 lumens/watt than you will at 180 lumens per watt. Fanguang Lighting, professional Led Lighting Manufacturer, products are in the higher lumens per watt configurations. Look for the products efficacy listed in their detail specifications, or divide the total number of lumens produced by the total watts consumed to determine efficacy.

* Look at the number of LEDs chips the fixture is using to produce the lumens. A fixture with fewer LEDs is typically driving the LEDs harder, which means life expectancy will probably be shorter. More LEDs driven less hard is a better combination of efficient and long life.

2.Paybacks can be relatively short

This is dependent on the 1+1+1 rule with LED payback - Hours of Use + Cost of Electricity + Rebates. Rebates may be the least important of the three, and high hours of use and high cost of electricity will dwarf the benefits of the rebate. Everyone likes a rebate, but we have created many proposals for our customers where payback was under 1 year even without rebates.

3.Reduced Maintenance Costs

The common problem with traditional technologies like HID (Metal Halide, HPS) and Fluorescent technology is they use ballasts with relatively short life spans. LEDs use drivers that converts AC to DC power. These drivers typically have a long life (good design is required that allows the drivers to run cool). It is not uncommon to expect a lifespan of 50,000 + hours for the driver and even longer for the LEDs.

In LED technology, the driver is the weakest link, so be wary of claims of products that will last 200,000 hours because there is an extremely high probability the driver wont last that long. Unless you can replace the driver in a 200,000 hour rated product, the product is only valuable as a marketing tool for the seller and not for you.

4.Increased Light Quality with Bright Warehouse Lighting

One of the specifications you need to pay attention to is CRI (color rendering index). This is essentially the quality of light that the fixture is producing. It is a scale between 0 and 100. And a general rule is that you need less quantity of light if you have better quality. LED has high CRI making the quality better than most traditional light sources. But CRI alone is not the only factor. Some traditional sources, like fluorescent also may have a high CRI. But because these technologies are AC powered, they "flicker", causing eye strain and headaches. LED drivers convert AC to DC, which means no flicker. So higher quality lighting with no flicker makes for a better production environment.
